Medication management

Having a headache is bad enough -taking medication shouldn't cause more irritation. If remembering to take your medication is a problem, try to make it easier to remember by using a reminder system or simplifying the routine with your pharmacist.

It's also no fun to open a child-proof cap when you've got a monstrous tension headache. And reading the small print on a bottle can be tough if a migraine is causing light-sensitivity. But it is still important to use your medication properly. Talk to your pharmacist about using containers that are easier for you to use, but still safe to have around the house.

There are certain things you should know about any medication you are taking such as when is the best time to take it and what to do if you forget. Ask your doctor or pharmacist lots of questions and arm yourself with information. And remember, herbal remedies are drugs too so be sure you know all the risks and benefits of taking them. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist to answer any questions you may have. Assess your medication-taking habits to see if you're putting your health at risk.
